Breakthrough to blessings - following Abraham's footsteps

It was an honor to be ministering at Christian Family Church International, South Africa for Drs. Theo and Beverley Wolmarans. 
People were blessed by the teaching and some emailed me and asked for the notes.
This is Sunday evening service message: "Breakthrough to blessings - following Abraham"

Gal. 3:26-29, Gal. 3:7-9

Those of faith are children of Abraham

The same blessing of Abraham is duplicated on those that walk by faith

Gen. 12:1-4, 7-8

Abram believed God - God said: "Follow me...trust in me..."

Gen. 12:1-3 : If you do what God says then He "shows" (vision) and He will "make" (provision)...

1. Abram acted on what he believed - He did what God asked :  Abram operated in FAITH

Faith requires "confession" and "action"

Abram walked by faith and not by sight

2. Abram built altars - Gen. 12:7-8, Gen. 13:4, 18

Gen. 13:2 - Abram built altars before and after he became very rich 

Altars are place of worship, sacrifice, communion, covenants, spiritual gates - the place where man and spirits meet

Make your house an altar - a place of worship, serving and covenant

3. Abram refused to quarrel and strife - Gen. 13:5-17

Quarrel and strife brings confusion and every evil work - Js. 3:16

Confusion = no decision or direction - you are lost!

*THOSE WHO QUARREL WILL BE INFLUENCE BY THEIR NATURAL EYES - Gen. 13: 10

*PEOPLE OF FAITH WHO DONT QUARREL WILL BE DIRECTED & INFLUENCE BY SPIRITUAL EYES - Gen. 13:14-17

4. Abram was humble - he was Lot's senior spiritually and physically yet he gave Lot first choice. (1 Pet. 5:5)

5. Abram refused offense and vengeance - he went out to rescue Lot his nephew (Gen. 14)

Offense leads to vengeance

Forgiveness leads to grace

God is a God of grace and mercy - as children of God, we must become people of grace and mercy.

6. Abram trusted God. He met Melchisedek: bread and wine and then gave TITHES of all.

Abram was a TITHER

7. Abram refused to depend on the hand of corrupt and perverse king of Sodom - Gen. 14:23

Melchisedek - King of justice and King of peace

He depended on justice and peace

8. Abram covenanted with God and broke the curse of barrenness - Gen. 15: 8-18 & Gen. 17, Gen. 21:5

9.  Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorah - Gen. 18:22-33

He did not accused, judge or condemn others, he stood in the gap and prayed for them

10. Abraham put God first (offered Isaac) - Gen. 22, Ps. 126:5-6, Heb. 11:4

We must develop faith to receive and to GIVE

God blessed Abraham in ALL things - Gen. 24:1

Confession of faith for a blessed family

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 18:21 The tongue is a very powerful instrument that can either manifest blessings from heaven or bring curses including failures into your life. Your tongue is the best tool to use in order to bring about changes and transformations in your life and circumstances. Boldly, sincerely and faithfully make the following confessions daily and see the promises of God manifest in your life. You will never be the same again through faith in the Word of God! Godly Parenting Boldly declare in faith: "In the name of Jesus, I declare that as I increase in the knowledge of God, I raise my children according to His will. They walk worthy of the Lord and His calling on their lives. They live lives that are pleasing to Him and are fruitful in every good work. (Colossians 1:9-10). In the name of Jesus, the favor of God causes my family to increase more and more (Psalm 115:14). In the name of Jesus, I declare that I have the wisdom, ability and strength to raise my children in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Acts 1:8, AMP). Through the leadership of the Holy Spirit, I will teach and impress the Word of God diligently on their minds and hearts (Deuteronomy 6:7, AMP). I will live a life before my children that brings glory and honor to God. I cast all my cares concerning my children on God, because He cares for me (1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 55:22). I am sensitive to the anointing that is on my children (Leviticus 7:36). In the name of Jesus, I bind the hand of the enemy in any way that he comes to kill, steal or destroy in the lives of my children (Matthew 18:18; John 10:10).  I loose the angels of God to go forth now to guard and protect my children (Psalm 34:7). For Husbands Boldly declare in faith: In the name of Jesus, I declare that I am a man of God. I am righteous, godly, faithful, loving, patient and meek (1 Timothy 6:11). I know God's perfect will for my life, and I walk worthy of the Lord and His calling on my life. I please Him, and I am fruitful in every good work (Colossians 1:9-10). I know that God prospers and provides for me; therefore, I am able to provide for my household (1 Timothy 5:8). I honor God by honoring my family. I am the head of my home, and I lead it by example with godliness and temperance (Ephesians 5:23; 1 Peter 1:5-6). I choose to love my wife as Christ loves the church by giving her first place and consideration in all that I do. I avoid anger, bitterness and strife at all costs (Ephesians 5:25; Colossians 3:19). I give my wife the honor, respect, goodwill and kindness that are due her (1 Corinthians 7:3). For Wives Boldly declare in faith: In the name of Jesus, I declare that I am a virtuous woman of God. I am a woman of moral excellence and strength (Proverbs 31:17, 25, AMP). I manage my household with Godly wisdom (1 Corinthians 2:16). I represent God; therefore, I dress appropriately because I am a godly woman and have self-respect. I maintain a clean and attractive appearance (1 Timothy 2:9). I submit myself wholly to my husband, for this pleases the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-24). Proverbs 18:22 says that He who finds a wife finds a good thing. In addition, he obtains favor from God.  Therefore, I declare that I am a benefit, and not a burden, to my husband. I love, honor and respect my husband and speak well of him to others. I speak kindly to my husband for his edification (Proverbs 31:26). My husband is faithful to me. He has no need to go elsewhere, because I provide everything he needs and desires (Proverbs 5:18-19).

The Names of God – Jehovah Shalom

John 5:43   John 17:6

Jesus says that he manifested and declared God's name to men. God has always revealed Himself through His names. God's name reveals His nature, His character, His personality and His attributes. As we understand His name, we come closer to understanding God Himself. Jesus manifested different name of God while He was on the earth, all of which prove His goodness and desire for His people to receive the best in life.

Jehovah Shalom
Jehovah Shalom means "the Lord our peace". There are two types of peace we benefit from according to the Word. There is the peace with God and the peace of God.

“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." Colossians 1:20

Jesus is our peace. Through Him, we have obtained peace with God

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” Romans 5:1

Jesus broke the wall of partition that separated us from God. Through Him, we can come boldly to the throne of grace because of the power of His blood through His death and resurrection. He restored our relationship and fellowship with God. We are now at peace and can enjoy a progressive relationship with our Father.

Because of the peace with God, we can have the peace of God.

Philippians 4:6-7

The peace of God that surpasses all understanding brings a worry-free life. When you are facing the storms of life, because we now have peace with God, Jesus will stand on our behalf and manifest the peace of God in our lives. He will provide restoration, safety, rest and security for us and our future. Remember now that God is the author of peace not confusion

1Corinthians 14:33

When the disciples felt threatened and challenged for their lives in the midst of the storm, as they called on Jesus, He stood up, rebuked the storm and commanded peace and it was so. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. No matter the storms of life that you may be facing, if you call on Him, He will manifest the peace of God in your life.

One of the translations of Shalom from the Hebrew is nothing missing and nothing broken. With Jesus, you can rest assure that He will fill the gaps and heal the brokenness that you've experienced.

So, how can we experience this peace today?
"These thing have I spoken to you, that in me ye might have peace." John 16:33

Peace comes from the words that Jesus have spoken.

Instead of trying to read different scriptures everyday, take the area of your life that needs peace and find a scripture and make it work in your life. If you have a physical storm concerning your health, then find scriptures on healing. These words are seeds, so read them out loud, believe them, receive it for you and keep confessing until they bear fruit in your life. The same goes for financial storms or any challenges.

Don't quit until you see results. Remember the key to breakthrough is consistency.
