The will of God

My dear friends,

The will of God means the desire and plan(s) of God. The theme of the bible consists of His will. One of God's passion is to reveal His plan to us.

There are two types of will:
1. The standard or universal will as written or documented in His Word. The bible reveals God's will for EVERYBODY.

The Word of God is the will of God.
2. The personalized or specific will of God for our lives. The will of God for each individual.

"For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little."
Isa. 28:10

In regards to the specific will of God for our lives:
Firstly understand that the specific will of God for your life will never go against His standard will. A lot of people want to know God's will for them individually but ignore God's universal will. For example, God wants all men (and women) to be saved and be separated from sin. God wants us all to walk in love. God wants all children to obey their parents. The voice of God will never contradict the word of God!
Secondly, God's word is revealed progressively..."here a little, there a little". Our quest to discover the specific will of God for our lives must begin with the word of God through prayer. This will help us navigate through life making the right choices and decisions, going to the right direction and reaching our God-given destination without getting shipwrecked. The Spirit of God leads us through the word and prayer (Rom. 8:14).

This then keeps us connected to God and focused on Him. The closer we are to Him, the more He reveals to us. The more we obey, the further we go. If we walk in the light we have, we are rewarded with more light.
This also keeps God as our priority and keeps us reaching for Him. The apostle Paul declared that his goal is to KNOW God (Phil. 3:10).
Whatever you do in life, it must line up with God's Word, and He will never call you to do something that is contrary to it.

Every revelation from God, whether by His Word, dreams or vision must be documented (Hab. 2:1-3).

Furthermore, God never gives us a picture of obstacles or the challenges we may face. He shows us the grapes not the giants. However, if we remain connected to Him, we can slay and conquer the giants. We can overcome the storms of life through His Word. His Word gives us strength (Dan. 10:19).
Our desires are often contrary to His Will. This is why we need to learn to submit ourselves to God. Submission is the seed for Promotion

We need to bring ourselves into agreement with His will.
We do not DECIDE our assignment, we DISCOVER and DISCERN our assignment - Jer. 1: 4-19

Some important truths about the revealed or specific Will of God for our lives:

  • The Will of God requires discipline and focus - Ex Jesus (Luke 9:51)
  • The Will of God may require education and training - Ex: Daniel (Daniel 1: 1-6)
  • The Will of God may require geographical changes - Ex: Abraham (Gen. 12)
  • The Will of God is costly - Luke 9:56-62
  • The Will of God may involve pain and loneliness - Ex: John the Baptist and Jesus
  • The Will of God cannot be discussed with everybody - Ex: Mary pondered all these things in her heart (Luke 2:19)
  • The Will of God means that you may not be granted access to certain places - Ex: Acts 16:6-7
  • The Will of God means you cannot have anything and everything you want - Ex: Samson (Judges 13)

Comfort is NOT a confirmation that you are in God's will

God open doors

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name."
Rev. 3:6-8

When God opens door, no man or devil can shut. This demonstrate the sovereignty of God!
It's a spiritual door granting us access to a new level, new dimension, promotion, increase...

Three things that church believed in and held on to:
1. The Word of Jesus Christ
They held onto the Revelation about The Word.
As a disciple of Jesus, they kept the Word (John 8:36)

2. Not denied the name of Jesus
The Lordship of Jesus. Evidently Jesus was their Lord and the one they worshipped.
Today there is not a spirit of anti-god but anti-Christ
There is only ONE way to God - Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (Jn. 14:6)

3. The patience of Jesus
Perseverance & patience (as Jesus) in times of adversity
God allows us to go through certain things.
At times He provides a "Escape" (deliverance) route and at times He allows us to "Endure" (discipline)

Doors:
Doors can be PULLED (spiritual attraction) towards you or can be PUSHED (spiritual effort).

Communion with God through prayer and the Word help us to know and discern the doors which God opens. Prayer is the PULLING and the PUSHING in the spiritual realm.
Faith in the Word of God - Faith in the name of Jesus and the power twins of Faith and Patience (perseverance) takes us through every circumstances in life.
Faith opens the door and patience (perseverance) keeps the door open!

Different types of doors:

A) Door of revelation and instruction - Rev. 4:1
B) Doors of faith - 1 Cor. 16:9
C) Doors of utterance - Col. 4:3
D) Doors of ministry - 2 Cor. 2:12
E) Doors of opportunity - Rev. 3:6-8

3 ways to know an OPEN DOOR is from God:

The Door that God Opens Will Never Contradict His Word
The Door that God Opens Will be Accompanied by Confirmation
The Door God Opens Will Require You to Depend on Him

Ask, seek and knock

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

 Matt. 7: 7-8

Ask, seek & knock - These are the words of Jesus. I believe that he is revealing a deeper and higher level of prayer. There is within this verse a suggested progression in prayer. As believers, we are to grow with God.

The Amplified Version translate these verses as:

"Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened."

This is in the present imperative which is a command not only to do something but to keep on doing it indefinitely. All three verbs in verse seven, Ask, Seek, Knock are not only imperatives (commands) but they are present tense imperatives. We are told to ask and keep on asking, we are to seek and keep on seeking and we are to knock and keep on knocking.

These very words; Ask, Seek and Knock seems to suggest an ever increasing intensity in prayer.

1.Asking: There are some things that the need is so clear that we merely ask for them. We are told to ask in faith. Believe by faith that you shall receive your request.

But then we move to another level in relationship and prayer when we seek:

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Ps. 27:8

2. Seeking is a deeper level of prayer than just asking. Seeking His presence, His will and the principle of the Kingdom (Matt. 6:33). Intimacy with God begins when we radically pursue Him with our whole heart.
God invites us in James 4:8 to "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
This is where your prayer turns to: "God, I want more of You. Lord I want more of Your Presence. I desire more of your fullness in my life. Fill me with more of You."
Salvation through Jesus Christ gives us the right to enter into God's presence. Worshiping God is a key to intimacy with God. Congregational and personal worship are both important. Intimacy with God will bring radical changes in you!

3.Knocking. The knocking here denotes seeking entrance. Entering another arena and dimension. It opens  the gateway to the supernatural realm - The access to living in the miraculous. This level is where we overcome limitations and walk in our God-given destiny and purpose in life. This level produce revelations, visions and impartations from God. The Holy Spirit becomes the leader of your life.

It's time for you to experience the supernatural...living with joy and saying:  “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” [Luke 10:17-20]

I encourage you to grow in prayer.

The return of the ancient spirits

“Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.” -  Prov.23:12.

Dear Friends,

Do you know that we are living in the end times?
Are you aware that Jesus will return soon?
Do you know and understand bible prophecy?
Are you sure of your salvation?
Do you know the revelation concerning the Seven World Empires?
Do you know about the Spiritual Conflict of the empires?
What are principalities and what are their main jobs?
Do you know concerning the four future conflicts foretold in the bible?

Let me give you a scripture to think and meditate on:
“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back…” (Rev 12:7 ESV)

I have underlined an important factor in this verse.
I invite you to come and learn biblical truth and prophecy concerning the future.

The ancient spirits will be unleashed – Who are they? What will they do? How many are there? Who is this dragon and who are his angels?

Join me Sunday 30th October at 8am.
